The Asia Cup 2025 is expected to be bigger than before, with more teams participating in the tournament. Apart from five full ACC (Asian Cricket Council) members, we will see three more Asia Cup teams this season. These teams earned their spots through the ACC Men’s Premier Cup 2024, while Oman is playing the tournament for the first time.

Asia Cup Team List 2025
A total of eight teams are participating in the ACC Asia Cup 2025, which includes three emerging teams – UAE, Hong Kong, and Oman. The five official ACC members are – India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan. Each team will compete against another, followed by the Super Four to reach the final.

Asia Cup 2025 Groups & Format
Asia Cup 2025 will feature eight teams that will be divided into two groups – Group A and Group B – with four teams in each group. It will follow the popular round-robin format and each team will face every other once before heading to the super four.
Only the top two teams from each group will advance to the Super Four stage. In the Super Four, these four teams will compete against each other in a round-robin format. In the final stage, the top two teams from the Super Four will play the final match on September 28, 2025.

Asia Cup Teams List 2022
In the 2022 Men’s T20 Asia Cup, six teams participated as the UAE and Oman failed to qualify for the tournament. The tournament featured India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, and Hong Kong, and was hosted in the UAE. It must be noted that Hong Kong is the only non-ACC member in the 2022 tournament.

Asia Cup Teams 2023 List
In the 2023 Men’s ODI Asia Cup, six teams qualified — India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, Nepal, and Bangladesh. It is important to note that Nepal made its first-ever appearance after winning the ACC Men’s Premier Cup 2023. The tournament was co-hosted by Pakistan and Sri Lanka in a hybrid format, with matches split between both countries.

How do Teams Qualify for Asia Cup?
The five full ICC member teams from Asia – India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan are automatically qualify for the Asia Cup.
The remaining teams earn their place by competing in the ACC Men’s Premier Cup, a qualifying tournament for associate nations. Teams like Nepal, UAE, Oman, and Hong Kong play in this event, with the winner (or top teams) securing a spot in the Asia Cup.
For example, in 2022, Hong Kong qualified for the Asia Cup by winning the qualifier, and Nepal made their debut in 2023 after winning the Premier Cup. And neither is the official member of ACC.
The number of teams in the Asia Cup can vary. While earlier tournaments usually featured six teams, the Asia Cup 2025 will include eight teams—five full members plus three associate teams. Oman, UAE, and Hong Kong qualified for 2025 through the ACC Men’s Premier Cup 2024, with Oman making its debut.
